Ten Minute Plays

May 20, 2008

The 10 Minute Play is now a popular form for the instant gratification needs of the younger generation. Check out www.shortandsweet.org – this festival of 10 minute plays is very attractive to budding writers because it will get them the exposure that otherwise they would not have a chance of getting. Alex Broun (www.alexbroun.com) has a swag of 10 minutes plays for download on his website – 10,000 Cigarettes has won him international acclaim. After spending 3 hours in a workshop at the Powerhouse in Brisbane organise by Short and Sweet, he took us through the structure of a 10 minute  play.  Closing date is October 2008 so get writing because they need 40 plays for Brisbane. It is also possible to register as an actor, a director if you are not interested in submitting a play.

10 Stamps

April 10, 2008

I want to write a play called ’10 Stamps’

My idea is about a mum who buys 10 Stamps through an online dating service and spends 9 of her 10 stamps on 9 disastrous dates. She has one stamp left… Will she meet her Prince Charming?

What do you think of my idea?
